TUG Reminder, Leaf Fall Times Mean Departing Earlier

Chesham people who travel up to London regularly at peak times, please note that the Leaf Fall timetable came into operation on Monday 8 October 2012. Alan Wallwork Secretary of Chesham and District Transport Users Group (TUG) advises that most trains will depart three minutes earlier than advertised in the current timetable.

Alan also said, ‘I am pleased to tell you that a number of commuters led by Ian Bartlett, have launched a campaign website for improvements to the Metropolitan line and in particular, the reinstatement of fast off-peak services for stations north of Moor Park. Visit From December 2011, all off-peak ‘fast’ services from stations outside Greater London were replaced with slower ‘all-stations’ trains to London. This has added 10 minutes to an already unacceptably slow journey time and has made the journey to/from London tedious. New trains were introduced, but these have fewer seats leaving commuters to stand for long journeys’. Visit or Twitter @MetTimes. Chesham TUG features on the site and the campaign has its full backing.

The next Chesham and District Transport Users Group meeting will be on Tuesday 30 October at 7.30pm at the Chesham Town Hall.
