Jenny Rees leader of the 1st Chesham Beaver Colony is changing roles and will become a Local Training Advisor. An exciting opportunity but she is sad to say goodbye to her group. Jenny said, ‘We had to have the meeting indoors as the weather forecast was bad, although annoyingly it didn’t rain and we would have been OK.’
They had a great evening with three teams from three different countries, featuring an opening ceremony and a torch relay when all the children did a lap of the hall with an unlit real torch. This was followed by playing some Olympic sports games, and culminated in a medal ceremony. They squeezed the whole Olympics into an hour. ‘A brilliant end to my career as Beaver Leader,’ continued Jenny. ‘It is very rewarding to be an adult volunteer in Scouting‘.
