Golden Summer Midsummer Ale, Brian Kilbey reports:

Summer now seems to be rationed in one or two-day packets but Summer Ales are available whatever the weather – firmly established in the British brewing calendar, as are Winter Ales. We can look forward to Chiltern Cobblestones, Concrete Cow Midsummer Ale, Fuller’s Summer Ale, Rebellion Blonde, Red Squirrel Summer Ale, Tring Lady Lemon’s, Vale Hadda’s Summer Glory, XT One and more from further afield.

Many pubs are putting on these real ales as summer guests, often from local brewers, and the ones I know about are: the Gamekeepers Lodge; the Misty Moon and the Queens Head in Chesham; the Black Horse Inn on Chesham Vale will have LocAle choices straight from the cellar; the Rose & Crown (Hawridge) is looking to LocAle sources and up on Ley Hill, the Crown will serve LocAle ales while the Swan will choose from a broader area.

You will find more at the beer festivals happening on our patch, visit www.midchilternscamra.org.uk. For more information on LocAle email Dave Badminton chairman@midchilternscamra.org.uk or on Summer Ales email John Lomax  redkite1958@gmail.com.
