Apprenticeship presentations will take place on Thursday 28 June 2012 between 10.30am -12.30pm at Trinity Baptist Church, Red Lion Street, Chesham. The programme for the morning includes: 10.30 – 11am coffee and introductions; 11 – 11.30am presentation from the Thames Valley Regional Network – Rita Edwards, Employer and Partnership Manager Buckinghamshire, Department for Work and Pensions. The 11.30am – 12.30pm slot will be for a group forum and an opportunity for short one-to-one interviews.
Jane Carling who is mainly involved in the website and monthly CV (curriculum vitae) clinic side of things said, ‘This morning is still for jobseekers generally, but with particular emphasis on trying to help young people find apprenticeships. I am not sure who is actually running the event because Colin Cartwright is on a sabbatical until the end of July.’
Topics to be covered in the presentation might be: increase in apprenticeship availability; attitude (or qualifications) needed; implications regarding benefits; advantages of this form of training; opportunities around here at present and in the future.
