Beethoven, MSO Concert on 28 April With More Brass

The Misbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will perform at the Amersham School in Stanley Hill on Saturday 28 April 2012 at 7.45pm. The concert was originally planned as an all Beethoven concert (hence the title) however this season the orchestra has seen a big expansion in membership including several new brass players. Because the planned concert would not have included most of the brass the orchestra has decided to add an additional piece. It will therefore begin with a performance of Brahms’ Variations on the Saint Anthony Chorale arranged for brass by Eric Crees.

The rest of the programme stays with the original theme however. MSO will play Beethoven’s Egmont overture and this will be followed by his violin concerto in D when the orchestra will be joined by violinist Eleanor Parry who combines a career as a soloist with teaching violin and also involvement in the Philharmonia’s education scheme where she is often used as a solo violinist during their Symphony Days workshops. The concert will end with Beethoven’s much loved 6th symphony – The Pastoral.

Tickets can be obtained in advance from Perfect Pitch, Chesham, the Record Shop, Amersham or by calling 01494 784479. They will also be available on the door. Prices are £10 for adults and £4 for students/children. Refreshments will be available in the interval. For further information please visit MSO’s website www.misbourne-orchestra.org.uk although it is out of date.
