The Christmas edition of the Grower the newsletter for the Cameron Road Allotments Group is out. Allen Tilbury, Chairman of the Chesham Allotments Group thanked everyone for maintaining the high level of cultivation on the plots which helped Chesham win the Silver Gilt Award in the Britain in Bloom competition.
The dates for the Chesham Horticultural Society sale of potatoes, onions, shallots and fertilizers will be Saturday 11, Saturday 18 and Saturday 25 February 2012. The hut will be reopened in time. Coffee mornings will be held at the Focal Point on these three Saturdays to coincide with the potato sale. Allotment holders are invited to do your shopping and join for a warm drink and a slice of home-made cake – from 10am until noon. They will return for the summer season early in April. Volunteers are always required for the rota so you are urged to come forward even if you can only spare just one Saturday morning at the Cameron Road site. Visit www.cheshamallotments.org.uk.
