Don’t Travel Latimer Rd from 28 November 2011 for 12 Days

There are long detours from Chesham via Amersham to avoid Latimer Road while works are carried out, hopefully within 12 days from Monday 28 November 2011 – but the order (reproduced below) is valid for 18 months. Local access is allowed.

Buckinghamshire County Council (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) (Various Roads In Chesham, Latimer and Chenies).  Buckinghamshire County Council has made an Order, which will temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding, except for access, in the entire lengths of C63 Waterside, Chesham; Latimer Road, Chesham; Latimer Road, Latimer; Latimer Road, Chenies; and Village Road, Chenies. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure will be via A416 Amersham Road, A416 Chesham Road, A4154 Rickmansworth Road, A4154 Woodside Road, A404 White Lion Road, A404 Chalfont Station Road and A404 Amersham Road. The closure is required whilst carriageway repair works take place and it is anticipated that the works will commence on Monday 28 November 2011 and will take approximately 12 days to complete. The Order will come into operation on 28 November – 2011 when the appropriate signs are lawfully displayed and will continue in force for a period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. ; Penalties for not observing these restrictions will be as prescribed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
