Treat yourself to a concert of sumptuous multi-part choral music to be given by the Damon Singers in aid of the Friends of the Belarusian Children’s Hospice (UK). It will be on Saturday 9 April 2011 at 7.45pm, at the Great Missenden Roman Catholic Church, 23 High Street HP16 9AA.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the programme will include moving music from Eastern Europe: Glinka, Rachmaninov, Kalinnikov; and contemporary composers Arvo Part and Pawel Lukaszewski; as well as works by Viadana, Tallis, Holst, Vaughan Williams, and Rutter.
