The Damon Singers’ Christmas concert this year will take place on Sunday 12 December 2010 at 8pm, at the White Hill Centre. As every year, it is absolutely free and so are the warm mince pies. If you can contribute on the night, any donations will go to their chosen charity, which this year is the Shed@ The Park Theatre Company. Mulled wine will be on sale at the bar.
The programme is entitled While Shepherds Watched, but you won’t hear the standard tune once. Instead the Damons offer shepherd-related pieces by the likes of Supply Belcher (yes, that was his name) and Bob Chilcott, as well as music by Bach, Britten, and Mel Torme, and there will be carols for everyone to join in, too. Simon Beattie said, “We look forward to seeing you there”. The Damon Singers – a choir for Chesham since 1957.
