Chiltern Humanists – For The One Life We Have

The Chiltern Humanists next monthly meeting is in the Small Barn Hall, Amersham Community Centre on Wednesday 8 December 2010 at 7.45pm. The speaker will be Antony Chapman who will ask Is Religion Harmful? Antony is one of the founder members of the Chiltern Humanists group and he will lead a discussion on whether religion is harmful, has been historically, and will be in the future. All meetings are open to anybody and all opinions would be of interest. If you have an opinion about this or would just like to listen, you are welcome to go along.

Chiltern Humanists Group has been running for nineteen years and meets every month at various venues around the Chilterns. They have talks and discussions on a variety of topics. Visit www.chilternhumanists.org.uk. They are affiliated to the British Humanist Association which represents and supports the non-religious. It is the largest organisation in the UK campaigning for an end to religious privilege and to discrimination based on religion or belief, and for a secular state. Humanism is the view that we can make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values and that we can live good lives without religious or superstitious beliefs.
