Kaizen kerfuffle

Jon Smalldon was the first of many to tell us of the closure of Kaizen Health clubs. I cannot believe the owners Fitness First Ltd, way off at 58 Fleets Lane, Poole, Dorset BH15 3BT have done their research judging by the outcry here. Janny Lees and her colleagues have really established Kaizen in the heart of the town and their happy mix of exercise, fitness and support is really valued. This was evidenced at Kaizen's second anniversary party a few weeks ago. In the two years of its operation, Kaizen has become a real community centre for Chesham. It is a shame to lose such a popular and successful facility. The club has always been used by families, older people and the disabled – not just the super-fit. Kaizen has built up a good following and were planning to begin ‘women only’ classes to involve the Pakistani Muslim population who don’t exercise in mixed company.
