It was fascinating to see what goes on at Riding for the Disabled at Bank Farm in Bellingdon. I was able to watch six youngsters from Elmtree do their Grade 1 RDA test and they were all relaxed and confident with their ponies and they all passed. Mhairi Sharply set the test which included steering the pony between obstacles, ie. knowing right from left. The ponies are quiet and there are lots of volunteer helpers. Anne Coney has been hosting Riding for the Disabled for 21 years and some of the helpers for nearly that long although there are new helpers too. To celebrate the anniversary there will be a bring-your-own party for riders and their families, and helpers past and present. Do make contact. Call Anne on 01494 758550 email
