Sergeant Steve Buckland has retired after years of service in the police force, 20 helping the people of Chesham. Steve has done such a lot over the years. I will miss his patient, common-sense explanations to meetings when we (councillors or/and the general public) have struggled to understand the latest problem, from vandalism to parking difficulties. He cut a striking figure in his Victorian police costume on the late night shopping evening. Farewell Steve and thankyou.
His will be a hard act for Melvin Mutch to follow but I wish Melvin good luck.
Chesham Police Station is open from 8am – 11pm. There is a misconception that it is closed during the afternoons but this is when the public office closes. The number for non-emergency calls is 0845 8 505505 while for emergencies you still dial 999.
